TSA Gives Rape Victim Horrible Experience at Florida Airport

A TSA worker runs her hands over the head of a traveler during a patdown search at Denver International Airport, the day before Thanksgiving

Just this past Sunday, at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, what seemed to be a normal day for most, ended up being a horrible day for a female rape victim who was improperly handled by TSA officials and then sent to a hospital.

In what the husband explained to be a “horrific experience”, which ultimately led to a visit to the ER for the victim, after Transportation Security Administration officers fondled her breasts. The husband explained to FlyerTalk.com, “Five years ago, she was violently sexually assaulted by three men and was threatened with death,”. The brutal assault traumatized the woman, which caused her to experience nightmares, flashbacks and even self-mutilation, at times. The victim did show an improvement in her mental health after seeking out counseling and working with doctors. However, her mental state is reported to be suffering a setback since her encounter with the TSA.

The husband noted “My wife was sent towards the backscatter, and told the TSO [Transportation Security Officer] she didn’t want to go through that”, obviously because of bad memories and machines looking at her body wouldn’t be mentally healthy. However, once the TSA workers decided not to use the x-ray machines, I then overheard the TSO graphically describing that ‘they will need to touch your privates’”. The victim’s husband went on to say that his wife suffered a  nervous breakdown and started shaking and sobbing.

These types of stories have consistently plagued the  TSA, from officials drinking on the job to allegations of TSA workers being known sexual predators, leaving many believing that the TSA is nothing more than a waste of taxpayer money.

the posts on this site are generally very informative but the grammatical errors are beyond atrocious. if you want to be considered a reputable source for information, please at least try to form comprehensible sentences.

“However, the wife experienced an improvement in mental health after seeing doctors since the airport security incident, she is doing worse than before.”

“…these have plagued the federal agency and many believe this has only a waste in taxpayer money.”

come on, you can do better than this :/

to re-quote what i previously said: “i’m just hoping to improve and maintain the image of this site since you really do bring up some very good information.”
kurt – you clearly seem to have missed the point to begin with. the only reason i pointed out the obvious mistakes is because i appreciate the information this site provides and i wanted to try and help maintain some form of credibility. it’s hard enough that the mainstream media rarely acknowledges these types of stories and simply refers to these types of sites as “conspiracy theorist” sites in an attempt to discredit the source. by putting forth anything less than properly articulated information, it makes it more difficult for these types of sites to maintain credibility.

Ok. I get it. But it’s not like they didn’t know that possibility existed with the TSA being what it is at the airport. If it was that risky that his wife would possibly have a nervous breakdown and they could possibly have driven instead, then they should have done so.

TSA= Transportation Suppression Authority. Take note airlines, many of us refuse to use public air transport because we simply cannot abide close proximity to these assholes.
