Meta-owned WhatsApp has just over 2 billion users worldwide. The Live Location feature gives you the ability to share your real-time location for a particular amount of time with the members of an individual or group chat. You are able to control whether and how long to share your live location.
In addition, you are able to stop sharing your live location at any time. Once stopped or expired, your live location is no longer shared. People who you shared your live location with will continue to see the location you shared as a static thumbnail image. They will be able to tap the image to see your last revised location.
This feature is end-to-end encrypted. This means that no one is able to see your live location except the people who you shared with.

Other Location-Sharing Apps
Google Maps
Google Maps is kind of the default option. Its location-sharing function is actually really good and it’s perhaps the best alternative to Apple’s Find My location sharing. You just add your friends or family to your Google Contacts. From there you will open Google Maps, tap on the profile image that is in the top right, and choose the Location Sharing option. We like this option as you are able to set it for both temporary or permanent access. Plus, it’s reasonably accurate.
Glympse
Glympse is another location-sharing service and it’s not half bad. It utilises its name as a verb for simpler clarification. If you send a Glympse to someone they will see where you are, whether you’re at the shops or sitting outside playing at a live casino online. Obviously, you are able receive Glympses from others. This works as a location sharing app as do most others. In addition, it also has the capability to set up events so that you can see where everybody is on the big day.
